Adobe to introduce new DRM and HTTP Dynamic Streaming
Two new features have been presented by Adobe at Streaming Media East. Access 2.0 is the new license server for DRM protected delivery. It is an evolution of the former Adobe Flash Media Right Management Server. With Flash Player 10.1 will be possible to play and manage DRM protected video both in browser and AIR applications (previously was possible only in AIR apps). HTTP Dynamic Streaming is a new way to deliver video using Flash. It is really similar to Microsoft Smooth Streaming and does not require a streaming server for video delivery but only a web server on which is istalled a plug-in. Access 2.0 can be used to protect contents delivered with HTTP Dynamic Streaming.
